CONTEMPORARY INSTRUMENT MAKING

Georges Alloro is part of the 2008 class of Masters of Art nominated by the French Minister of Culture.

“A Master of Art is a professional par excellence who masters exceptional techniques and skill. He is recognised by his peers for his experience, expertise and educational ability. He must be able to pass on his knowledge and skill to a pupil who in turn will continue the tradition.
The official title of Master of Art was inspired by the “National Living Treasures” of Japan; following their example, the Masters of Art pass on their expertise. They are concerned for the evolution of their crafts through constant innovation. Currently in France, there are 89 Masters of Art, all nominated by the Ministry of Culture and Communication.”
